Who is responsible

sterk is the studio name under which two independent designers work together:

Both of us are responsible, as controllers, for the personal data described here, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian law.

What we collect

Only what you send us: your name, company, email address, the type of project, a budget range and the message you write, either through the contact form or by email or phone. We do not have user accounts, we only run analytics (Google Analytics) if you consent to it, and we do not use advertising cookies.

Like every website, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address in server logs to deliver and secure the site.

Why we use it, and on what basis

• To answer your message and prepare a proposal: this is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract (art. 6.1.b GDPR).
• To run the project and meet our legal and accounting duties, if we work together (art. 6.1.b and 6.1.c GDPR).
• To keep the website working and secure: our legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR).

We do not send marketing emails unless you asked for them, and we never sell your data.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted after two years at the latest. If we work together, we keep project and invoicing records for as long as Belgian accounting law requires (seven years). Server logs are kept for a short period only.

Who receives it

Only service providers that help us run the studio, such as our email and hosting providers, and only for that purpose. They act on our instructions. If a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, this happens under the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as standard contractual clauses.

Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When you open a page, your browser therefore requests them from Google, which receives your IP address. More in our cookie policy.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to hello@sterkdesign.be and we will reply within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal data, we update this page and its date.
